Day 266

This is why we fight. Uzbekistan is one of the world's leading producers of cotton, but the harvest conditions aren't always ethical. According to the Washington Times,

"Every day, under police guard, every person is forced to collect 30 to 50 pounds of cotton,” said one student of Tashkent Polytechnic College."

And earlier this year, the government promised not to use child labor in their harvest in order to protect kids from these horrible conditions. But as the harvest started, they broke that promise. You can read more about that here and help end human trafficking all over the world by giving. Because if we don't speak up, who will?
